Don't even think about it. I have been teaching since 1986 and have seen everything. Cheating hurts fellow students. Any time that must be spent on such matters means less time available for real teaching and real learning.
You are expected to understand and abide by the principles of Academic Integrity as defined in Article 1, part 4 of the Student Code. Among other things, academic integrity prohibits cheating and plagiarism. All violations of academic integrity will result in one or more of the penalties allowed by University procedures, which include a reduced or zero grade on the assignment and a notice of warning which becomes part of a student's record. Severe cases may lead to suspension or dismissal from the University.
In this course, any assignment you turn in should be your own work (not a copy of work by a classmate or anyone else). You are allowed to work together on homework problems, but each student should write up an individual description of the solution. Some activities may allow you to work together in making measurements. Each student who participated in a joint measurement may make use of that jointly acquired data. You may also confer on the analysis of the data. But again each student should prepare an individual report. If you are in any doubt about whether something is allowed or not, ask your instructor or your TA.
