Supernova Remnants in the Small Magellanic Cloud

SMC SNRs

The known isolated (i.e. outside of superbubbles) SNRs in the SMC are listed below with their coordinates and optical sizes. This list is compiled from Mathewson et al. (1983, ApJS, 51, 345; 1984, ApJS, 55, 189). I hope to compile "fact sheets" for each of these remnants, with some of the available images and properties of each SNR. Those for which such a fact sheet is currently available will have a link from their "Object Number" in the table below.

Coordinates and X-ray sizes are taken from ROSAT HRI images, with the following exceptions. (1) 0045-734, 0046-735, 0049-736, 0101-724, 0102-723, 0103-726: Mathewson et al. (1983, ApJS, 51, 345); (2) 0047-735, 0050-728, 0056-725, 0058-718,0104-723: Mathewson et al. (1984, ApJS, 55, 189).
