My thesis research is to develop a novel, more physical set of subgrid models to study the effect of AGN feedback on cool-core galaxy clusters. We will conduct a series of kiloparsec scale simulations of galaxy cluster cores and generate synthetic observations that will be used to calibrate the model. The study will provide a clearer image of the detailed interplay between the SMBHs at the centers of galaxy clusters and the surrounding gas, and it will also offer insights into the physics of the SMBHs and the ICM of cluster central galaxies. A better understanding of the picture of AGN feedback is important for addressing the cool-core problem, as well as accurate interpretation of data from galaxy clusters in large surveys.
