My major areas of interest are the structure and evolution of stars and comparisons between theoretical models of stars and observed properties of stars. Of particular interest in recent years has been: (1) comparison between the properties of theoretical models of thermally pulsing asymptotic giant branch models and the properties of their real counterparts in the Magellanic clouds; and (2) the construction of evolutionary scenarios for the evolution of close binary stars which interact by Roche-lobe overflow.
